WiLD: Women in Leadership Development

In conjunction with Dr. Margaret Kennedy of  Kennedy Insights, CareerVision developed a unique program (WiLD – Women in Leadership Development) aimed at uncovering and dismantling obstacles to greater female participation at a leadership level in this industry sector.  So unique and impactful in fact that the programme scooped the coveted 2023 Pharma Industry Education & Training Award in Ireland.

This 6 month programme is immersive and uniquely tailored to each cohort of female participants.  It is informed by DEI research, by the voice of the female participants and by insights gleaned through years of working with women from all backgrounds.

A pilot programme was delivered in 2022 to women within a BioPharma organisation and the benefits were striking with 80% of participants making upward career moves, 100% stating an increased confidence in leadership potential.

A further 11 programmes have run or are underway with 200 females from across the BioPharmaChem sector.  The 2023 programme outcomes are equally impressive with 50% of females promoted, 35% actively applying for progressive moves within their organisations.  The testimonials below speak to the programme’s profound impact, to the shift in mindset of participants and to their growth in confidence.

“This has been the single best programme I have participated in since joining the BioPharma organisation in 2009. It has completely changed my perspective on Leadership and how to progress!”

My world has opened up to the potential I have to be a great leader. I now have to confidence to take on a lot more opportunities where before I felt I didn’t have what it takes.  Now I know, I do have what it takes.

“I would recommend this course to any women wanting time to reflect on her own leadership style and strengths. It’s an eye-opening experience to go through this programme with other successful women who perhaps did not realise at the beginning how successful and capable they already were. It was a great exercise in picking each other up, recognising and building upon our strengths and gaining confidence to lead with the strengths we already have.”
