Paving Your Way to Work

This is a personal career development programme developed specifically by FAS Social Inclusion team for use with groups of Lone Parents. The main aim of this programme is to facilitate the participants in returning to work, to take up employment for the first time or to access further training or education.

The programme primarily focuses on developing self awareness and moves on to understanding skills and strengths/talents. C.V. development and in-depth interview coaching make up another very significant element of this programme.

Certification in basic I.T. skills and a manual handling course equips participants with further skills.The programme completes with a 2 week work placement in an organization of the participants choice, relevant to their career direction, this which knits together all material covered throughout the course of this programme

Topics covered during the course of the programme include;

  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Manual Handling to name but a few
