CV Clinic - 1 day Workshop

A CV is like an advertisement: it should attract attention, create interest, describe accomplishments and invite a person to contact you.

In today’s competitive environment, the average amount of time an employer or hiring manager takes to initially scan a CV is 30 seconds. It is very important therefore that the CV be brief, 2 pages and quickly tells a hiring manager what you can do for them and what you have done that is of relevance to them, who you are, and what you know. The key is that the CV must provide enough relevant information for the hiring manager or company to evaluate your experience/ training and interest the employer enough to invite you for an interview. Its chances of success or failure depend entirely on how far it meets the criteria, background and bias of the person reading it.

When producing a CV, many people:

  • Fail to identify what the employer is looking for
  • Undersell and underestimate what they have to offer
  • Fail to provide the right evidence to support their skills and competencies
  • See rejection as negative and fail to ask for constructive feedback

We have all made some of these mistakes in producing a CV but there are a number of steps you can take to produce a ‘winning cv’. Our facilitators have extensive recruitment experience and will work with you over 1 day workshop to create/revise a CV that grabs attention and gets you interviews for the roles in which you are interested.
