BACKGROUND
13.5% of the workforce are currently unemployed which means that there is considerable competition for all jobs advertised. As a job seeker it is now vital to do everything in YOUR power to compete effectively when job searching, applying and interviewing.
For many people searching for a new job is hard work. In fact, it can be the toughest “job” you’ll ever have. In most jobs you receive training to help you perform well, so in the search for a new job, (one that you could conceivably be in for a number of years) doesn’t it make sense to invest in training for your future?
CareerVision, Ireland’s leading talent management organisation have been helping people find the job they want for over 15 years. They now offer a 4 day training programme to help give you the skills you need to compete and win your ideal job. At the end of the programme you will have:
• A very clear understanding of self-marketing techniques and language to really sell yourself into a job that you want
• An effective strategy to source, identify and research desired jobs
• Produced a winning CV which will get you invited to interview
• Razor sharp interview techniques and be ready to face even the toughest interview questions
This is achieved through following a programme of 4 very practical modules.
MODULE 1 – ME & MY WORK
Effective self-marketing requires clear articulation of your career offering. This module focuses on discovering your unique offering and ideal careers through identification of key personality traits, skills, experience and achievements giving you the language required to write a winning CV. It will also offer advice on how to start preparing for interview.
MODULE 2 – FIND THAT JOB!
Statistics show that only 25% of jobs are currently advertised so it’s no wonder that it can be difficult to find a job – however they are out there! This module will look at innovative job search strategies and social media impacts such as LinkedIn and will help establish a profile for you. It will share key networking tips for effective and smart job searching.
MODULE 3 – PERFECT THAT APPLICATION
By module 3, you will have a draft CV which meets the highest standards. This module shows you how best to tailor a CV to meet the employer’s needs and ensure that your CV goes on the “must interview” pile. You will also focus on interview preparation including research prior to interview and understanding the impact of both verbal and non-verbal cues at interview.
MODULE 4 – INTERVIEW PRACTICE
It may have been a long time since you attended a formal interview and this can, understandably, make you very nervous – so nervous in fact that you can often fail to impress. By taking part in a series of mock interviews you get the opportunity to look at the interview from all perspectives. Familiarity, excellent preparation and regular practice helps to minimise nerves to help you succeed at interview and get the job that you want.
65% of participants who have completed previous programmes with CareerVision were successfully re-employed within 8 weeks of completing this programme. Give yourself the same chance!
