C.A.O. and Training Choices

Making the right plans for your future during these changing times can be difficult. College choices can be overwhelming and confusing. During the course of this 1 day programme, you will be taken on a journey of self-discovery which will lead to a greater understanding of CAO and other education routes, ultimately identifying which routes will be both personally suitable and realistic in today’s environment.

About the Programme

The day is spent helping you to know yourself better with a view to identifying the most suitable education routes for you. We focus the first half of the day on understanding your:

• personality traits – what you are naturally good at and poor at
• interests/motivators – what gives you a buzz and what leaves you cold
• talents and strengths – naming the talents and strengths you have to offer
• and key learnings from education / exam results to date

The second half of the day will be spent working with you to use these pieces of the ‘puzzle’ to help you identify suitable C.A.O / education routes. Each participant will be encouraged to identify multiple education options and routes. One to one support is available to help you put your plan into action.

For Whom:

Ideally suited to those 5th and 6th year students, or Transition Year students who are over 16 years of age, and who wish to clarify college choices or complete the C.A.O. form. Students are encouraged to bring web-enabled laptops to the workshop day.
