Recruitment agencies work on behalf of the employer and are paid by them to find the most appropriate candidate for the job role on offer. They earn their money by getting the maximum number of best fit candidates to the employer for interview.
Internet
The internet is a very rich and instantly accessible source of job vacancies. Many employers and agencies post their job vacancies on a small number of national job websites, most of which have extremely user friendly search facilities. In addition, vacancies are posted on the employer and recruitment agency websites to extend their reach
Invisible
Personal Contacts/Networking
You can use personal contacts to successfully access the hidden job market. This mechanism allows you to take control and be proactive about how/when things happen in your job search. It is the job search mechanism with the highest success rate.
Direct Approaches
If you have a clear idea on the organisation(s) in which you would be targeting a particular role or roles, then you can contact the organisation directly to introduce yourself and ask specifically re. available job vacancies. In the current climate of high employment supply, direct approaches has a high success rate in delivering target roles to experienced and qualified individuals.
