Making the right Choice
I am a Quantity Surveyor but I have not had a job in over a year. The construction Industry will be going no-where for the next few years and I cant afford to wait that long. What is the smart economy/smart generation and what courses could I do in order to get a good career.
The course you select should be in line with the type of work you eventually want to do, i.e. it should take you a few steps closer to achieving it. Your ideal work will be determined by your personality, your skills/talents/experience already accumulated and most importantly your motivated interests. If you select a course before working through all your relevant career data, then you run the risk of finding it's not quite right and struggling to finish it/stay motivated, not to mention the waste of money involved.
You are well qualified now as a Quantity Surveyor, so probably you'd be looking for something just as 'professional', but with better prospects market-wise. It's important not just to concentrate on what jobs are most in demand now and into future, but instead on what you want now and into future work-wise.
