3RD Level Options - Returning to Education

I am strongly considering returning to college this September to pursue a graduate diploma in Information Technology as I am currently unemployed. I have a degree in business but feel like I'm not qualified in anything specific. I suppose my question is what are the job prospects in IT at the moment?

Prospects in IT are relatively good at the moment. The critical point is that you have to have skills in a niche IT area, e.g. gaming, or networks etc.

If you have a degree in business, you should perhaps look at the WPP scheme that FAS run. It's a Work Placement Scheme in which you can work for 9months with good employers and still collect your job seekers benefit. Then, if you do a good job and get noticed in the organization, it is likely that they will take you on, or at the very least, you can use your experience to get a paid role at that point. It's a very valuable programme and worth investigating.
